		<description>Your argument is a bit screwed:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&gt;Your engine may be a lot more efficient that your dad’s old gas-guzzler from the 1970s, but chances are you burn just as much gasoline on the road over the course of a year as he did.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Imagine if the standards had NOT been increased. You would obviously burn much more now. No effect? I doubt it. Commuting at longer distances is a necessity. Do you spend your time on the highway if you have another choice? Seems a bit backwards to me.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;And you forget one point: the whole world is about trading emission rights. The US will follow. The US is now doing things Germany has done long ago and Germany has long ago decided to ignore the Anglo-Saxon B.S.. Some people are waking up in the US. And they will see that Germany will gain from the emission rights stuff because companies have a chance to grow their competetiveness in a future-oriented business. And the US won&#039;t risk to loose additional jobs, so they will join in.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Just my 2 cents.</description>
